Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Strobe ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Strobe is a webpage monitoring service that allows users to track changes on websites and receive alerts when specified conditions are met.

The Service includes:

  • Web page monitoring and change detection
  • Custom alert rules based on natural language descriptions
  • Email and webhook notifications
  • API access for developers
  • Dashboard for managing monitors and viewing history

3. Account Terms

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. When you register:

  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service

Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, you authorize us to access your basic profile information (email, name, and profile picture) from your Google account. This authorization can be revoked at any time through your Google Account settings. By using Google Sign-In, you also agree to Google's Terms of Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Monitor websites without authorization where required
  • Overload or harm websites through excessive monitoring
  • Collect personal information without consent
  • Engage in any form of automated abuse or spam
  • Circumvent any rate limits or access restrictions
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code

5. Payment Terms

For paid plans:

  • Billing is recurring based on your selected plan
  • All fees are non-refundable unless required by law
  • We may change pricing with 30 days notice
  • You're responsible for all applicable taxes
  • Failed payments may result in service suspension

6. Data Usage and Privacy

Your use of Strobe is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • We only collect data necessary to provide the Service
  • We never sell your personal data or Google user data
  • Google user data is used solely for authentication and account management
  • You can request deletion of your data at any time
  • We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR and CCPA

Important: We do not use Google user data for advertising, marketing to third parties, or any purpose other than providing Strobe's core functionality.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Strobe Inc. and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

8. API Terms

If you use our API:

  • You must comply with our rate limits
  • You may not sublicense API access
  • We may modify or discontinue API features with notice
  • You must not use the API to compete with Strobe

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STROBE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Service. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
